Diane was literally one of my very first weddings that I ever signed on professionally and it took awhile (at least a year) for the actual wedding date to roll around so it very much anticipated! I wasn’t quite sure what to expect with this wedding as it was my first backyard wedding, and in Grass Valley at that. When I arrived the weather was patchy looking with a ton of really dark clouds. At this point, I was happy because those make for beautiful and dramatic pictures. I took “getting ready shots” and then set the bride up for their “First Look”. The bride’s parents had a very beautiful backyard so I was excited to work with it all! I couldn’t be happier with the pond that the bride requested for all of her photos; it offered up a very beautiful reflection of the couple and the clouds! After their “First Look” portraits we did the wedding party and the plan was to get lined up for the ceremony, but Mother Nature had a VERY different plan! The weather took a very dramatic turn; raining cats n dogs like no tomorrow! It took about a half an hour for it to finally calm down before the ceremony could continue as planned. I absolutely adored how the family and friends kept their calm as they worked with each other to dry one another off and the seats so that the ceremony could proceed! As soon as the beautiful bride walked out the doors to proceed down the aisle with her father; the sun just beamed though the mist, and let me tell you; it was AMAZING looking!! My most favorite moment from the whole day is when she walked out and that mist just added a glorious look to her photos; very magical! Diane and Toby, I wish you and your beautiful little family the best and I want to thank you for choosing me to photograph your beautiful wedding; it was, simple elegance at it’s finest! Please enjoy the blog debut!!
