Behind The Shutter
Behind the “Shutter” moments from Portrait Sessions., weddings, and more!
See an inside look into a portrait session or event before your big “in front of the camera” moment. See how other clients pose, react, and respond to Alicia Gines as she works with them one-on-one and as a group. You will also see how dedicated she is by laying on the ground, in mud, climbing things, and even signing Elmo songs to make little ones happy!

This is an inside look in on my first wedding that I ever had done at the time.(Left) you see me making her dress fuller by fluffing it up and then gently laying it on the ground. Yes we were in the street! (Middle) Behind the scenes shots like this that show how I worked with my first bride are priceless to me. I love the smile on her beautiful face as I fix her veil. (right) posing my bride in a sassy pose as I get some last minute shots of her in the home before the ceremony.
(left) As family greets the beautiful couple on their new unity, my husband catches an additional creative angle to the moment. Love how the groom’s sister is so sincerely watching as the wedding night unfolds. (center) This was no small family, I had to hold the fingers up for everyone to hear me. Absolutely love the grooms excitement! Priceless! (right) Well, that’s me. A long day. A stressful day because it was my first, but I was overly thrilled and happy by the end of the night as seen here!
This was my second wedding at the time. A beautiful beach wedding. (left) A windy day and happy tears result in running make-up, who better to touch you up then your photographer?! (center) I was able to be there for all of my bride’s needs. Here I was helping her adjust her dress and make her more comfortable. (right) Wedding dresses have maintenance that need to be kept up on throughout the day and I usually end up being that person to make it beautiful again!
(left) The day before the wedding I attended the rehearsal and got to know the family personally. (center) I simply asked my bride to take a few graceful steps away from me as I got a unique shot of her with the amazing scenery. (right) this little guy’s tie was all twisted. On the big day no little detail is too little for me to notice. Perfection is my job.
This would be my third wedding at the time. (left) The dress and the bride are always my main focus points. They both must look as perfect as possible. Here I was tucking a tag away as to not show in my shot. (center) Canon!!!! I was just a little happy with shooting with a canon on that day and a 35mm. We were waiting for the groom to get his pants on lol before we started shooting. (right) Getting at a low level to get that unique angle of the groom and his men getting ready.
Scouting is a HUGE part of my job and my husband is with my 90% of the time and is always my stand in. (left) Just having a little fun with the flashes at home. We used four flashes in that picture! (center) Beeeeeautiful property of a local winery! (Right) Preparing a setup for a groom. I always test my lighting and perfect it prior to having my clients stand in, especially on a wedding day! i love my husband. He’s soo handsome!
I hold this little newborn so dear to my heart already. From day one her mommy had me with just her name; Zoey! My daughter’s name is Zoey as well. (left) Tucking the teeny tiny arms and legs into the cocoon gently while she sleeps in my lap. (center) Mommy and I working together to get hats and cocoons on this little sweetie. (right) this was originally a behind the scenes shot but because i loved how mom and dad worked together to provide comfort for their baby girl, it quickly became a favorite in their final gallery!
Sometimes the paparazzi follows me without me knowing. (left) I’m in the dirt under my umbrella capturing a stunning, fun and creative shot of this beautiful couple. (right) Perfect rosey cheeks and red lips; not from make-up but from the 50 degree weather that was produce by a late running wedding rehearsal!
Consultations are something that a lot of clients seem to fear the most. Very nervous at first maybe because they don’t know how I am. I’m just a person, like you. (left) Awaiting a client at your local starbucks. Hence, the starbucks in my hand that is 80% gone! (center) After 80% of the coffee this is what I’m doing as I wait. It’s called caffeinated texting! Haha. Seriously though, I just have to phones for the business and frequently keep up to date with clients on both. (right) The latest shot of the super sexy, awesome, hot, totally babe-a-licious……car! Oh, and I’m in there somewhere too! We like to do mini shoots when we have a few minutes to spare. It can get fun!
(LEFT) I often am standing or kneeling in the street and is the main reason why I adore having my hubby assist my on sessions. I’d hate to get hit by a car! (center) getting approval that the pictures are looking good!. (right) The daddy-to-be watching closely as his beautiful prego wife gets a close up done.
(left) Wedding clients of mine invited me to get “acquainted” to the winery. We had a great time. (center) This is how you know we were having fun. Elephant ears anyone? (right) Us girls, winery two! Fun!
(left) Just me getting the shot. Love the colors. (center) yet another angle of me getting the IT shot, you can tell by the smirk on my face that I was having fun with this couple. (right) Oh yeah, look at those smiles! They like, they like!! If I remember correctly they said, “that’s super hot”.
(left) I’m not the only person caught in action. Profile shot of our videographer in action! (center) I totally didnt expect this to come out so cute, but I love it. I wish Tasha’s face wasnt right in the mirror’s crease but its still cute. (right) Ryan, videographer, filming the shoot!
(left) In the middle of working, I look up and voila “deer in headlights” look. I thought I handed my camera over for a second but it turned into a photo op I guess. (center) Showing a mom a picture of her hubby and baby and getting her happy approval! (right)in the corn field working. yeee!
(left) My hubby standing in as I test the lighting and takes a picture of me as I do so. (center) The picture that hubby took in the photo to the left. (right) be being silly for baby. Dad thought I was funny but baby was too busy chewing pearls.
