Excited beyond containment was the state in which I was in all day today. I finally had a newborn session, and it’s was for a beautiful little girl at that! Don’t get me wrong, I love little boys too, but I am a sucker for all of the pink and girly things! Baby Blythe and her mommy were awaiting our arrival. Baby Blythe was changed, fed, and sleep was in her near future; or so we all thought. We were able to put Blythe in her beautiful inherited bassinet for a few shots and she slept very sweet and soundly. Once I decided I wanted her to be naked and on an accompanying chair, things started to not go so smoothly. She wasn’t very fond of the “naked” idea or the “no mommy” thing. She was pretty darn content in her mommy’s arms even giving her a little coo every once in a while. Baby Blythe was extremely interested in the camera and decide to skip her nap time just to keep all eyes and ears on what I was doing. I think after a good hour or two of still not getting her nap she decided to get a little fussier. Her mommy and I both desired some specific shots for her newborn portraits but due to baby’s genuine curiosity, it just wasn’t happening. There were a few things that I tried that completely failed, and there were several other things that I did that were a complete success! Regardless of the fussy moments and the missed shots, I was so happy to be invited into their home and capture this time in their lives. Baby Blythe was such a doll and was a very good baby nonetheless! Everybody is guilty of being camera shy at one time or another. Perhaps her next photo shoot will be more fun for her.

I hope that you enjoy what I was able to capture for you, and you are welcome to copy and paste the photos onto your facebook with proper credit to “www.AliciaGinesPhotography.com” and please do not crop, or manipulate the photo in any way. Enjoy!!

Newborn Portraits 6 by AGP Baby Blythe (Professional Newborn Photographer. Stockton, CA)Getting acquainted from a far. Baby Blythe’s mommy had great taste in home decor. It was right up my alley and worked perfectly as baby Blythe’s backdrop for most pictures.

Newborn Portraits 5 by AGP Baby Blythe (Professional Newborn Photographer. Stockton, CA)This is what she thought after her first initial meltdown she had after the whole “naked” thing…..like she got her way. She reminded me so much of my daughter when she was this tiny. So tiny, but already wrapped around her mommy’s finger.

Newborn Portraits 4 by AGP Baby Blythe (Professional Newborn Photographer. Stockton, CA)I absolutely love this photo just based on how simple and how, right up front and center, Baby Blythe is! Yes mommy she’s doing the pirate eye, but I think that was just her thing. At least she can pull it off looking cuter then ever.

Newborn Portraits 3 by AGP Baby Blythe (Professional Newborn Photographer. Stockton, CA)Both her mommy and I were hoping for a naked booty shot in this super neat vintage sewing box, but Blythe wanted to see what was happening. Still very sweet. She absolutely loved the blanket and just laid there happy as could be.

Newborn Portraits 2 by AGP Baby Blythe (Professional Newborn Photographer. Stockton, CA)I think it might just be my favorite “feet” shot. It was a genuine moment between mommy and baby; I just happened to pan down a little and get the hand and feet together. If you read the image you can see the story and that is what makes it perfect. Plus, we got naked-butt! Snuck that one in!

Newborn Portraits 1 by AGP Baby Blythe (Professional Newborn Photographer. Stockton, CA)This being the photo that I originally panned down from. how sweet RIGHT!!!! Probably one of my favorites. I know in many photos there are so many things you can pick a part from it and say, “it could have looked better if it were like this…” but in all honesty, THIS is life. This is WHO they were/are. This is LOVE. And to me, their imperfections are their perfections!! And so Blythe’s mommy doesnt think I think she looks bad…I’m referring to Blythe’s hand being up and fingers spread. If I could change anything it would have been her little hands and I would love to have seen her face more. Nonetheless, it’s priceless.
